In 2015, Patrik Thomas and two artist friends founded MOVIMENTO - a collaborative film lab in Portugal that will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2025. During a research fellowship in 2019, he came into contact with Brazilian cineclubs and was impressed by their subtle visibility in the urban space, the easy access for all interested parties and, in particular, how the "space-bound cinema" becomes a mobile and discussion-friendly meeting place.

In the same year, CinéVéloCité (CVC, still without a bicycle) had its premiere in Munich as part of the summer program of the Traveling Space. The "CVC" initiative remains alive and is funded as a pilot project by Creating NEBourhoods Together in 2022. Thanks to a project grant, a prototype is designed and implemented in cooperation with the Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Münchner Kammerspiele.

Since then, CVC has been on the road as a bicycle cinema film lab, bringing cinema experiences and workshops into public spaces. Sustainable equipment is used to promote community activities and exchange in urban spaces, with access guaranteed for all interested parties. Temporary appropriation of public space - opening it up even further and transforming it into a space for discourse!
