Film mediation, cultural worker, curator and author

Seggen Mikael studied ethnology and art, music, theater with a focus on visual anthropology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich and cultural studies and cultural management in Ludwigsburg and Pittsburgh. She then worked on a documentary research project at the University of Ghana in Accra. From 2019 to 2023 Seggen Mikael was part of the DOK.fest Munich team, she worked in the program team, as a moderator and as coordinator of the Toolbox program of the EFM, Berlinale. Currently (2025) she is project manager of the program for marginalized producers. She is also co-founder of the consulting collective DisCheck, which reviews media content in a discrimination-sensitive and intersectional way.

She has held practical film seminars and taught film theory for DOK.education. Most recently, she wrote the accompanying material for DAHOAMY for Mubi and was part of the "Film macht Mut" project for Vision Kino. She lives in Munich and Berlin.
