Daniel Lang is a filmmaker and educator. From 2012 to 2018, he taught in the Documentary Film Department at the HFF Munich. His areas of interest in teaching especially lie in experimental documentaries, the convergence of art and film and the short documentary form. Next to teaching he continues to make films, has organised the film festival “Über Kurz oder Lang” in Murnau am Staffelsee since 2009 and has been working for the DOK.fest Munich since 2013.

Der Umwelthistoriker Greg Mittmann ist Vilas Research und William Coleman Professor am Department of Medical History and Bioethics an der University of Wisconsin in Madison/USA. Momentan ist er Fellow am Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Er arbeitet auch immer wieder als Filmemacher und gründete das Umweltfilmfestival TALES FROM PLANET EARTH in Madison.
Protagonist THE LAND BENEATH OUR FEET
Geboren in einem kleinen Dorf im ländlichen Liberia, musste Emmanuel Urey im Alter von 13 Jahren mit seiner Familie das Land verlassen. Auf der Flucht vor dem Bürgerkrieg nach Französisch Guinea. Zurück in Monrovia entkam er bei einer Festnahme durch die Charles Taylor Rebellen nur knapp dem Tod. Nachdem er erst mit 14 Lesen und Schreiben lernte, arbeitet er heute an der University of Wisconsin, Madison an seiner Doktorarbeit und setzt sich aktiv für Landreformen in seiner Heimat Liberia ein.
