BEST DOKS – Shortlist VIKTOR DOK.international
ADIEU SAUVAGE
Belgien 2023 – Director: Sergio Guataquira Sarmiento – Original with English subtitles – Length: 92 min.
Colombia, Amazon: the Cácuas are supposedly incapable of love, because they don’t have any words for such a feeling. At the same time, there is an increasing number of suicides within their community committed by young men suffering from a broken heart. The filmmaker, himself a descendent of indigenous people, wants to get to the bottom of this phenomenon and travels to the jungle to spend some time living with the people there. A relationship that could almost be described as tender begins to develop. Samay Claro
