The sound of the sea can be heard in the bedroom where the architect couple Eileen Gray and Jean Badovici, who built the house known as E.1027 on the Côte d’Azur, sleep. The director Beatrice Minger portrays an almost forgotten icon of modernity. Eileen Gray had to hold her own in the male-dominated avant-garde scene around Le Corbusier, who altered the building without her consent. Michael Kohl
Biography
After studying film studies, German studies and history, Swiss filmmaker Beatrice Minger made short films and video clips that were shown at international short film festivals. Her first feature film UNDERCURRENTS is currently in development.
Christoph Schaub was born in Zurich. He broke off his German studies to start a film career as a self-taught filmmaker. Over the years, he has made documentaries and feature films that have won many national and international awards and often found a wide audience. Many of his documentaries deal with architectural and urbanistic themes.
