Kim Longinotto (London, 1952) studied English and European Literature at the University of Essex. After that she joined her friend Nick Broomfeld at the National Film and Television School in London, where she studied direction and camera. Longinotto's movies portray strong womens' fights all over the world. In 2014, DOK.fest dedicated her its retrospective.
