In the Tajik mountain town of Murghab, much has changed since Socialism. Surrounded by windswept plains, the strong-willed inhabitants cope with the sparcity of everyday life. An ethnographic portrayal of rugged mountain area.
We present the world premiere of the film at DOK.fest München 2019.

Martin Saxer und Marlen Elders work on the research project Remoteness and Connectivity:
Highland Asia in the World at the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology at LMU
Munich. Daler Kaziev grew up in Murghab and is currently doing an MA degree at Cornell
University in the USA.
