Heddy Honigmann
Born in Lima, the filmmaker left Peru in her early twenties. After stations in Mexico, Spain and Israel, she studied film at the renowned Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. When she moved to Amsterdam in 1978, she found a new home there, from which she made a film almost every year for over 40 years. Her works have won many awards. DOK.fest München dedicated the 2019 retrospective to her.
