MOHAMMAD AL ATASSI – Born in Damascus in1967. Al-Atassi was born and raised in Syria and works as a journalist and documentary filmmaker. From 1966 to 1970, his father was the president of Syria and was subsequently imprisoned for 22 years without trial. After studying history in Paris Al-Atassi returned to Damascus in 1999, began campaigning for human rights and founded an internet forum that was critical of the regime. Today he lives in Beirut.

ZIAD HOMSI – Born in Damascus in 1989. Since the start of the Syrian revolution, Homsi has become one of the most important photographers and activists in his hometown, the liberated city of Douma. His pictures have been shown in various exhibitions in Europe. In 2013 he captured the massacre in Douma in a short documentary film.
