THE SOUNDLESS FALL OF GRAVITATION
HR / MK / DE 2008 – Director: Saša Orešković – Original language: Croatian, English, Macedonian – Subtitles: English, French – Length: 61 min.
Music resides in all things: in bottles, bicycle spokes and buzz saw blades. The percussionist Zoran Madzirov manages to elicit fascinating sounds from the most unusual of objects. As a master of what is known as “bottle music” the Macedonian has made a name for himself worldwide; he has been dubbed the “Jimi Hendrix of the bottlephone.” The need for sound and rhythm that drives Madzirov is almost physically apparent. Like a dervish he works with everything that he gets his hands on._The pulsating energy and rhythm of the music also influence the film itself making this portrait of a musician a real treat.
