Brenda Jorde

Brenda Akele Jorde earned an MA in Documentary Directing at Filmuniversität Babelsberg (2018-2022) directing the shorts A WAY OF BREATHING, STICK OF JOY as well as her first feature length documentary THE HOMES WE CARRY which premiered at Doc Leipzig and earned various nominations and awards. Brenda also directed the documentary series „Family of Choice“. Her films deal with (self)empowerment, queerness, migration, identity and black history. Brenda also curates and hosts at Berlin film festivals and teaches aerials and acrobatics in social circus institutions.
