Widia Larivière

Widia Larivière is an Indigenous rights advocate. She co-founded Mikana, an organization that raises awareness about the realities of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. Formerly, she worked at the Quebec Native Women's Association and the Quebec Human Rights and Youth Rights Commission. Widia has co-directed two short documentaries and collaborates on various documentary and podcast projects amplifying the voices of First Peoples. Currently, she works on the documentary 'Indigigeeks Strike Back.' Born to an Indigenous (Anishinabe) mother and a Québécois father, bridging cultural divides became her mission. Her efforts earned recognition, including the 2017 Amnesty International Ambassador of Conscience award.
