All DOK.forum awards at a glance
With the DOK.archive Award for outstanding archive film projects, the DOK.composition Award for film composition, the DOK.digital – Award for New Narrative Formats for contemporary forms of journalistic-factual or documentary storytelling, the DOK.talent Award for students from our partner universities and the ICON DOCS Award for targeted mentoring, the DOK.forum Marketplace offers five endowed competitions. In addition, talent development is promoted in numerous international mentoring and festival awards.
DOK.archive Award
The funding award – sponsored by British Pathé – honours projects with a large proportion of archive material and thus strengthens a documentary genre rich in tradition. The winning project will receive British Pathé archive material worth 22,500 euros or, alternatively, 2,500 euros in cash. Read more
DOK.composition Award
In order to strengthen the artistic collaboration between filmmakers and composers, the best musical concept for a documentary film will be endowed with 2,500 euros. Sponsored by Sonoton Music. Read more
DOK.digital Award
The DOK.digital – Award for New Narrative Formats honours contemporary forms of journalistic-factual or documentary storytelling. The award is sponsored by Bayerische Landeszentrale für Neue Medien and endowed with 2,500 euros. Read more
DOK.talent Award
The pitch competition, endowed with 2,500 euros and sponsored by Südkino Filmproduktion, offers students from our partner universities the opportunity to further develop their current projects in exchange with editors, producers and distributors and to win new financing partners. Read more
ICON DOCS Award
The ICON DOCS Award is endowed with 1,000 euros and includes mentoring services for the selected project from an expert of ICON DOCS. Read more
DOK.forum Mentoring & Festival Awards
DAE Talent Award
The award offers tailored mentoring sessions with an industry professional. The aim is to promote talent development. The award will be conferred among all participating marketplace projects. Read more
Visioni dal Mondo Award
A top-notch documentary project – whether already in its final stages or still in development – will be given the opportunity to participate in the Visioni Incontra Marketplace at Milan's Visioni dal Mondo documentary festival in autumn. Read more
FIPADOC Award
The FIPADOC Award winner will receive an invitation to the final selection of the International Pitch of FIPADOC 2025, with two professional accreditations for the team.
