Petra L. Schmitz

Head of the Documentary Film Intitiative at Filmbüro NW, Cologne

Since 2000 Petra L. Schmitz has been the head of the Documentary Film Intitiative at Filmbüro NW, Cologne where she arranges symposiums and workshops on documentary aesthetics, techniques and documentary film’s position within media politics and publishes the “Texte zum Dokumentarfilm” book series. Before this she worked on the history of media in FRG and GDR at Grimme-Institut.

Walter Greifenstein

Commissioning Editor and ARTE co-ordinator at Bayerischer Rundfunk

Since 1988 Walter Greifenstein has been responsible for fiction and documentary film and the pop programme, Tracks, at Bayerischen Fernsehen. Among others, he has overseen documentaries such as "Die große Stille,” "Liebesgeschichten aus Moskau,” “All you need is Klaus" and “Sommer – Winter – Sommer” (DOK.fest 2013). Walter Greifenstein is also a member of the new country music outfit, “The Blissful Bob.”

Irène Challand

Head of Department Documentary,  Radio Télévision Suisse

Irène Challand's professional life has included experiences as an audiovisual journalist and various commitments to film making. After working for the Festival of Locarno, she was RTS’s and ARTE’s correspondent in Berlin. In 2001, she was appointed head of the documentary department at Radio Television Suisse where she is in charge of the programming of all their documentaries, including co-productions, exchanges, pre-buys and acquisitions.
