Ysabel Fantou

Programmer, author, moderator, DOK.education media expert

After studying general studies and landscape architecture, Ysabel Fantou studied in the documentary film class at the HFF Munich. In 2008, she completed her studies with a documentary long-term observation. She loves variety across the spectrum from writing to directing – documentary and fiction. Ysabel Fantou works freelance as a lecturer, dramaturgical consultant, author and director, among other things for documentary children's television.
In 2016, her children's book "Luftkinder" was published, which deals with dying and memory in a positive way. In 2017, together with Sanne Kurz, she completed the film project DIE HERBERGE, largely financed through crowdfunding. She has been part of the DOK.fest München programme team since 2017. In parallel, she is working on her fictional debut SENIORITAS.
