Joanny Zongo leaves his home country of Burkina Faso to find work in Côte d’Ivoire. Years later his family learns of his death. The filmmaker Michel K. Zongo sets out with his camera to find out about the life of the big brother he never knew. He finds answers on the cocoa plantations in the neighbouring country. Biography
Michel K. Zongo completed various film trainings and worked for Cinomade, an organisation in Burkina Faso that deals with education through films. In 2014, he founded the documentary film festival Koudougou Doc. In 2015, he presented LA SIRÈNE DE FASO FANI as a guest at DOK.fest Munich.
