“Being born, working here, retiring, new people joining – a regular flow”: Outside Calcutta, the cogs of the jute factories turn in a tireless dance of machinery and sweat. In vast factory halls the workers circulate in a cosmos full of dust, jute fibres and metal. A film with striking images and sound that gives deep insights into the arduous work. Veronica Loebner
