“They defuse the mines and then you drive over them.” Andreas is silent, his mother is worried. Soon the 26-year-old Lance Corporal from Berchtesgaden’s Mountain Infantry Brigade 232 will have to return to the Hindu Kush. It will be his second deployment to Afghanistan as a driver. He has four weeks of summer to spend at home: going swimming with his girlfriend, meeting with his mates in the local pub, going hiking and spending time with his parents.  But this time is also a wait and, above all, a long goodbye._The camera follows quietly in the footsteps of the protagonist. With poetic images shot on 16mm the directors trace his inner voice. Thus it is not conversations but a visual intimacy that comes to the fore. An authentic portrait set on a mild summer’s night.
