LOS ÚLTIMOS
Paraguay 2023 – Director: Sebastián Peña Escobar – Original language: Guarani, Spanish – Subtitles: English – Length: 89 min.
Everything about Paraguay’s last remaining native forests fascinates the filmmaker Sebastián: their silence and sounds, their flora and fauna. So he goes on a road trip with his uncle Jota and his friend Ulf, both ecologists, to film them. In the face of approaching forest fires, the three philosophise about the true (eco-)system and the humanity that cannot be saved. Sara Gómez
