MANIFESTO
Russian Federation 2022 – Director: Angie Vinchito – Original language: Russian – Subtitles: English – Length: 68 min.
A girl lies in her bed, sleepily rubbing her eyes: "Good morning Russia, it's time to get up!" MANIFESTO uses only clips posted by young people on their social media channels to tell what a "normal" day in a small Russian town might look like. The mosaic of narrative threads gives an insight into the everyday life of the youths. Soon nothing is normal here any more. In the increasingly disturbing film collage, the young people are first shown secretly filming drill and abuse by teachers at school. At the end of the film, the violence escalates: shaky camera, screams can be heard, a girl speaks into the camera: "There are shootings at our school. The whole stairwell is covered in blood."
