Der gebürtige Augsburger absolviert nach der Schule zunächst eine Banklehre, holte das Abitur nach und begann Politik zu studieren. Später wechselt er an die Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München. Er ist Filmemacher für Dokumentarfilm und arbeitet als Produzent.
