THE SUMMER OF '91
Slovenia 2022 – Director: Žiga Virc – Original language: Slovene – Subtitles: English – Length: 72 min.
A square full of people, then the sound of a siren and the square empties in no time – everyone is in the air raid bunkers. After a referendum in 1991, Slovenia declares its independence and the Yugoslav People’s Army mobilises. Footage that has never been made public before now, gives an insight into the life of the Slovenian population during the short war – a cinematic document of cultural value. Katharina Dolles
