WAR GAMES AND THE MAN WHO STOPPED THEM
Poland 2009 – Director: Dariusz Jablonski – Original language: English, Polish – Subtitles: English – Length: 110 min.
A political thriller. Ryszard Kuklinsky is, to some, a Polish national hero; to others he is a traitor to his homeland. During the Cold War he was a colonel in the Polish army. Under the pseudonym Jack Strong he operated as a top-class spy for the USA and handed over to the States over 40,000 pages of top-secret documents on the Warsaw Pact. With General Jaruzelski and Solidarność icon Lech Wałęsa he altered Poland’s history and that of the Iron Curtain. Still today the CIA glorifies him as a hero in the struggle against communist Russia and its nuclear power. One man against the rest of the world.
