Katharina Warda was born in Wernigerode in 1985. She is an author, speaker and filmmaker and now lives in Berlin. Her texts explore racism, classism, punk and devaluations of East Germans. Her articles and essays have been published in DIE ZEIT, Krautreporter, Der Freitag and TAZ, among others. Her debut novel "Dunkeldeutschland" (2025) was awarded an author's grant of 25,000 euros by the Berlin Senate. She is currently developing her first two documentary films OUR SISTER ANGELA and CODENAME: GUSTER.
